Guy Kerr Ninja Registered: 01/14/03 Loc: A trailer park in Quebec	I disagree to some extent. I think Favre will want to play only as long as he can command a high salary. If he has a really crappy year (or a couple of mediocre-to-bad ones), he'll receive no more attractive offers. I don't fear catastrophic injury, but feel that the Favre comeback will end badly. He won't have nearly as good a year as he did in 2007, and I don't expect his team to go as far in the playoffs (or maybe even make the playoffs). He'll just fade into mediocrity. Upside would be something like Joe Montana's tenure with the Chiefs, which wasn't so great IIRC...

Ride the pine, come in for emergencies, collect a fat paycheck. Now that I think of it, I can sit my *** as well as anyone else. I ought to look into becoming a third-string backup punter somewhere. Ed Yetman, III Ninja Registered: 12/08/04 Loc: Tucson, Arizona	I remember seeing Eddie Murray playing near the end of his career. He was a DH for the Orioles, as I recall. Anyway, he goes up to the plate, and you can see he's just a tub of guts at this point. The pitch, the swing--home run! He trots the bases and heads to the dugout. The camera catches him pacing back and forth--just rounding the bases left him winded. The look on his face plainly said "I don't care how much I am getting paid, I am too old for this ****." And he was a baseball player! I think he retired after that season.
