Commendable effort, GC, but I was looking for a little more skankitude, and something that might be located in the Northeastern US. Say, "Chateau Gique"

or "Geeker's Crib"

You guys (MH is of course excluded and fully exonerated) are really trashing inky's pad about for no good reason whatsoever... I'm totally shocked and ashamed of all you carpetbaggers! :p

She deserves better and I'm loaning inky my hide-away summer pad, which I don't use as much as I use too... Plus, even though it's placed in a beautiful picturesque valley, when they built all those damn public freeways on the other side of the mountain my total acreage dropped down from thousand's to just mere hundreds. Damn those cars! flame

Here inky move on in at your convenience...

Click "here" to see the full sized version.

Oh and btw, it's fully decorated and completely furnished (all primo antiques fully laid out Persian rugs, of course, just like Mal also an antique). It includes, horses (well there's a complete Carriage House of course), beautiful flower gardens, a small lake, landscaped lawns the size of city blocks (that's for octal & G-Cube), professional double tennis courts, a deluxe swimming pool (Greek style) fully equipped with modern updated saunas and steam rooms. Should tide you over until we can fix you up with something a bit nicer. I'm sure your good friend Zsa Zsa will have some grand ideas! laugh

All the Best,
Your old & caring dear friend,
- Mal

If we're going to get nostalgic about hot chicks in old movies, allow me to submit:

Grace Kelly in Rear Window

Maureen O'Hara in The Quiet Man

Maureen O'Hara was my neighbor for three years, many moons ago.

Yes, the Mamas and the Papas were in their "heyday" probably before the majority of the members of this Message Board were even born!! smile
You're are so right Chess Fan!

The youngsters these days think of 'black gold' as oil, 'records' as a mark that should have been broken yesterday and 'vinyl' as something that covers the car seats! :laff:

I remember it just like it was yesterday when this wonderful record album ('black gold vinyl') slipped into my hands and then immediately on to the turntable! wink

***************************************

California Dreamin' by the Mamas & the Papas!

***************************************

Note: First produced in 1966 on the album:
"If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears."

I fell in luv with this song in the Summer of 1967
(you get to guess where that could possibly be!)...

The entire record album is a masterpiece but this
song California Dreamin' simply blew my mind!

***********************************

California Dreamin'

"All the leaves are brown
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
And the sky is grey
I've been for a walk
I've been for a walk
On a winter's day
On a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm
I'd be safe and warm
If I was in L.A.
If I was in L.A.
California dreamin'
California dreamin'
On such a winter's day

Stopped into a church
I passed along the way
Well, I got down on my knees
Got down on my knees
And I pretend to pray
I pretend to pray
You know the preacher likes the cold
Preacher likes the cold

He knows I'm gonna stay
Knows I'm gonna stay
California dreamin'
California dreamin'
On such a winter's day

All the leaves are brown
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
And the sky is grey
I've been for a walk
I've been for a walk
On a winter's day
On a winter's day
If I didn't tell her
If I didn't tell her
I could leave today
I could leave today
California dreamin'
California dreamin'
On such a winter's day
California dreaming'
On such a winter's day
California dreaming'
On such a winter's day"

***********************************

I can still hear every word, every subtle nuance and all of the lush vocal harmonies even today stirring in my mind as sung by John Phillips, Cass Elliot (Moma Cass), Denny Doherty and Michelle Phillips. Of course, 'Monday, Monday', 'I Saw Her Again', 'Straight Shooter', 'Go Where You Wanna Go', 'In Crowd', 'Spanish Harlem', and finally, 'Do You Wanna Dance' were all icing on the cake! laugh

Oh the 60's nostalgia!

All the Best, - Mal

PS: The answer to my question above is: On the very corner of Haight & Ashbury (lived in an apartment house smack dab right there) in San Francisco! (aka: the 'Haight-Asbury District' where 'flower power' became a household word!).

Awesome! Incredibly cool. [Insert many "not worthy" smilies here.]

I thought you might have some H-A roots: in reference to "head exploding", you once (well, probably several times in various contexts) posted a highly psychedelic image. Can't recall where right now (hey, I'm old)...
