And Congratulations are in order for Guy Kerr. His Spartans are in the final seconds of their upset of Connecticut in the Final Four.

82-73!
Consecutive wins over Big East powers Louisville and UConn.

Still only the first half, but UNC appears to be rolling in the nightcap.

Well, although Michigan State played well, I am also *very disappointed* at how poorly that Connecticut played against the Spartans.

Also, Villanova simply got beaten by a team with far superior talent in North Carolina.

As for the finals tomorrow night:

"GO NORTH CAROLINA GO, AND, BEAT MICHIGAN STATE!!!!!" grin grin

Well, it's now halftime, and, it is ALL North Carolina!! up up

Halftime score: North Carolina 55 - Michigan State 34! shocked shocked

North Carolina's 55 points are a record for the most points in the first half of a championship game; plus, North Carolina's 21 point lead at halftime is also a record for the largest halftime lead in a championship game!!

"Keep Up The Good Work, and, continue to GO NORTH CAROLINA GO!!!!!" grin grin

All Carolina from the start. Offensively and defensively, they were just too strong for MSU. The only chance I felt MSU had going into the game was for Carolina to play less then their best and for MSU to play their best. Obviously that didn't happen. But the Spartans are to be congratulated for not giving up and also for getting as far as they did.

I pulled the plug at 38-18. Had a feeling a blowout would occur: UNC beat the Spartans by 35 at the same venue in pre-conference schedule action, and the last time MSU went to the Final Four they also suffered a beatdown.

For sure the better team won, hats off.

Can't complain about the Spartans' hoop campaign, but their hockey team this year was the worst I can recall. Usually they make the NCAAs (they won the title a couple of years ago, but generally get eliminated pretty early). However, this year they were far sub-.500, at the very bottom of their conference (the CCHA, hockey conferences are unlike those in the big sports). I don't follow closely enough to know what went wrong, though...

Wow, we sure did have a **beautiful** day, weather-wise, here in my "neck of the woods" in the state of Pennsylvania! up up

This afternoon, outside in the gorgeous low-humidity, mid-70's temperature weather, I was enjoying doing some weeding and mulching in one of the tree and flower beds out in the front of our house. grin
