I've already said that I would serve if crowned, but nobody has bestowed so much as a Dukedom on me yet. "My library is dukedom enough for me." The Tempest

Hey Ed, are you going to start a topic thread in memory of the death of Robin Gibb?

I did not know he had passed. What a shame.
I recall that in the spring of 1978 that practically every song on the Billboard top ten was a Bee Gees song. One radio station back east even had a "No Bee Gees" weekend just to give the listeners a break.
Just to make this a political post, if you listen to the lyrics of "Love to Love You Baby" or "Stayin' Alive" today they sound positively Victorian. How times have changed.

The Tempest Nobody's bestowed a library on me either. But is that what you've meant all this time you've talked about monarchy? A government Of the card catalog, By the card catalog and For the card catalog?

At least a card catalog is orderly.

Startling revelation. Mitt Romney is Gull Dukat. Or looks like anyway. Striking resemblance! Thanks for finding that, Ken. On a serious note, the only thing wrong with Obamacare is that they cut out the part where we plain folks could buy our health insurance from anyone - across state lines even. The competition would bring down the cost of insurance big time. As it is, we have to stay in state (my good friend got stuck because her company was in another state and they gave her insurance from there. They wouldn't pay her hospital bill when she had cancer. She recovered from the cancer but it's taking forever to pay off the hospital bill.). In PA they go by zip codes, and you only get one or two companies to choose from. I don't even know if I pay mre than others or less, but there is only one company in my zip code that I can buy from.

Allowing it to be sold across state lines wasn't cut because it was never there at all. The Democrats string pullers didn't want that because they benefit from the current system. So, they not only want to force us to buy a product, they want to force us to buy it from a monopoly. The bit where the insurance companies can't turn me down is nice, but that's completely useless to me if I can't afford the premium. The only thing wrong with Obamacare is that they did nothing to get the costs down, but that's a pretty big one thing.

Single payer. I'm not a big fan of government-run enterprises, but it is the only way. It's like roads and highways. It's just easier for everyone that way.
