Thanks Petro, that made it much clearer and easier.

Bit of a typo. The word marked in bold is actually two words.

7-2-11-1-11 and 16-23-12-24

That is not a Bible cryptogram, btw. It is a religious cryptogram. The difference being a Bible cryptogram should quote a verse from the Bible. This one doesn't.

Not that I'm complaining or being ungrateful, Petro. I enjoy doing cryptoquotes so keep them coming. Incidentally, the grammar and syntax of this one is similar to one of our regular posters here. Did you lift it from his post?

No, actually I generated these first two randomly so I could solve them myself too. There's a site that will generate theme cryptograms, and they had a category called "Bible". But it looks like some of the ones they have in their files aren't actual verses. I guess I'll have to solve them myself first to check for things like that. It might be too hard to both present and play the game myself.

That dash at the end of 7-2-11-1-11- seems to have resulted from there being blank spaces at the end of lines that get turned into dashes when I do the replacement commands. Have to check that more carefully.

Ok, Petro, allow me to return the favour then. This one is for you so you can play as well. It is a Bible-based/themed crytogram. No idea if it is a verse or a religious saying.

hm, longer than I thought. Just typing it in resulted in picking out a few letters and words. Looks like a good one to solve for those who haven't done too many cryptograms before.

I came across this comment by "Mike Elzinga" on Panda's Thumb. I thought it good and quite applicable to many circumstances. If it was shorter I'd use it as a signature line.

Quote:
One of the hidden dangers of comfortable, well-fed populations and well-oiled food and resource distribution systems is that large segments of the population can essentially become parasitic and adopt beliefs and behaviors that are completely unsupportable in any kind of reality. If they become a majority in a society where each has a vote, that doesn’t bode well for the future of that society.

In this week's edition of "The Hal Lindsey Report", Hal Lindsey opened the show by saying that "After studying prophecy for over 50 years", that he is "stunned at how rapidly prophecy is coming together in its final form!" shocked

In this week's program, Hal talked about things such as the present situation concerning the war in Afghanistan, the continuing Iranian threat against Israel, and, the riots and un-rest concerning the temple mount in Jerusalem, and, how all of this lines up with Bible prophecy.

So, without further explanation, here is the October 29th, 2009 edition of: -- "The Hal Lindsey Report."

Now this is interesting. I decided to see if Hal Lindsey was still claiming earthquakes were increasing. He did have a video lecture where he said this. I can no longer find it. All links I find now say, "This video has been removed", often saying for copyright violations.

I can still find loads of quotes from his books, interviews and articles, but none of them originate from his site. It is like he has expunged every reference he's made to earthquakes both in video and in print from his own web page. Normally when you do that you have an apology or correction notice explaining why you removed the material...or you keep the material there but have a banner saying you were wrong, or have the relevant parts struck through like this.

If anyone can find a page or statement where Lindsey admits he's been wrong and this is why he's edited his site, please let me know.
