Jussi Björling doing "O Holy Night" in Swedish. From 1951 I believe. He gives this special Christmas mood, searching for the right expression, grandiloquent a suggestion from the dictionary. Jussi Bjorling-O helga natt.

Some of my fave Xmas carols are those composed or arranged by the great English composer Gustav Holst. Here is perhaps his most famous carol, with lyrics by Christina Rosetti: In the Bleak MidwinterThe Holly and the Ivy is another that I always enjoy singing. My all time favorite carol however is the Huron Carol, written in 1632 by Jean de Brebeuf, a Christion missionary living among the Hurons in Canada. It was written in the native language of the Huron people and has a simple, haunting melody.

I'd also like to recommend "the greatest Christmas album in the history of history", the noted A Jingle With Jillian. You can read about it and see it compared with the classics here: A Jingle With Jillian: The Greatest Christmas Album in the History of History I paid cash money for this album on iTunes last year, and believe me it was worth every penny. It not only gets you in the holiday spirit, it clears your sinuses too.
