I don't see any offensiveness in the term 'atheist'. And I don't see how Petrosianic manipulated DeepNf3's post. Has there been a campaign for the term 'non-religious person' to be used instead of 'atheist'?
By the way, DeepNf3, what is your religious faith if you don't mind me asking?

By the way, DeepNf3, what is your religious faith if you don't mind me asking? Looks like he's a Zipitarian. That could explain a lot. But it looks like he's completely mistaken in thinking that atheists don't like being called atheists. At least he was unable to show any evidence that that was true, and of course, Madalyn Murray's organization was called American Atheists. Maybe they're in the minority, but he was unable to find any evidence to that effect. I have heard of a few people who didn't want to be known first and foremost as atheists (In other words, preferred to be defined by what they did think more than by what they didn't), but that's not the same thing. You may not know it, but in early American history, there was a group known as the Anti-Federalists, whose manifesto was known as The Anti-Federalist Papers (sound familiar?). The term fell into disuse after the Constitution was adopted (as it would also have done if the Constitution were defeated). If the day ever came when nobody believed in God, then the term "atheist" would also fall into disuse.

do you remember that guy in the picture in my post one or three posts ago?
Yeah, Al Capone. And it's still completely nuts that we're arguing about whether a writer might be offended at the use of a term that he used to describe himself. Before we go any farther, why don't you find some of these people that you're talking about. You know, the ones who don't like being called atheists, and let them tell it in their own words. You did that a few days ago; you remember, you provided a link to a story that explained your view better than you could do it yourself, and it was fairly successful, as Ken was able to puzzle out your meaning from your link. Let's go that route again. note: I have never heard of a homophobic who does not even know why homosexuals are called so or care to know about it, it seems to me that you believe that such 'homophobic' should be called so because he is straight, likes to eat christmas cookies, and watch baseball while sucking on his big toe
note: ...neither I believe that a non-religious person who knows about theism should be called atheist just because of that, I never heard of a homophobic straight man who is being called so because he okay with the sexual orientation of others whatever they might be, oh I am sorry, I forgot that he also likes to watch baseball while sucking on his big toe
Ken? Decoder Ring, if you please. If I guess what this means and get it wrong (as seems almost certain), he's just going to say I did it deliberately. At least I'm pretty sure he's NOT saying "Drink more Ovaltine". And please delete any reference to toe-sucking in your translation. I'm not interested in Deep's personal life.

have you ever heard of the anti-two-noused men? well, I have not heard of them either, but it seems that they might be a group of men characterized as having one nouse each who do not know how to smell with two nouses or care to learn anything about it, neither they are against anybody with two nouses, maybe they are the ones piloting those UFOs in the science channel Oh! Well, that explains it. Cancel the translation, Ken, I've got it now. And Now For Something Completely Different: A Man With Two Nouses

DeepKn-KB3: not all drugs are good. Some... are great.
I used to call myself "kind of an" agnostic, but I've since realised that I'm actually an atheist and have no problem with describing myself as such.
