How much of his medical costs did the school pick up?

As long as he was on scholarship. Once he was out he was on his own. I never did find out what happened to him.

Well, you said he never graduated, so how long was he on scholarship? Did he flunk out, give up, or have his scholarship revoked?

I don't know the full details. I lost touch with him.

Here's a reason NOT to be cynical bout pro sports. One of the best ideas I've heard in a long time:

Bypass Lane Comes to the Dell Diamond

In short, Nolan Ryan's minor league team is rolling out technology that will allow people to order concessions from their smartphones, and have them delivered to their seats. No more long lines and missing the game while you go to get the grub. I'll be surprised if every park in the country doesn't do this within a few years.

And thus the only exercise at the ball park is eliminated. Another step on the road to perfect obesity.

In that case, the current situation is a reason not to be cynical about pro sports. The long lines provide exercise. How'd we miss that one all this time?

Mega-bust, überbust, Ur-bust,...JaMarcus Russell in trouble with the law. Who woulda' thunk it?

I'm shocked, shocked that this happened. I thought he'd gone to the CFL.

I think CFL QBs have to be mobile. Russell is too big and fat. And character-wise, surely too much of a dog for any club to take the risk.
