Never felt like I had any idea what was going on during this game.
Lost it for good when I missed the queen check that took my pawns. I'll take a close look later.
Thanks for the game Crumhorn. I enjoyed it.
Good Luck with the rest of the tournament.
Mark.

Thanks for the game, Yair. It quickly became a wild tactical game as it so often do in the Two-Knight.
In the end a bunder by Yair desided the game. After 15.gxh3 Rxh4 black wins a pawn but we still have a game. Instead Yair allowed a mate in two.
I also think 14.Re1 is fine for White.
But thanks for the game Yair, it was not easy calculating all the tactics, so even if the game lasted only 16 moves it was not an easy game for me. Better luck to you in the next game!

OOOOh. What a blunder. I swear I told myself that I should take that Bishop, but when the moment of truth arrived - I just forgot about it. No excuse for that. I guess that's why I'm such a lousy player....
Thanks for the game and the lesson, Rimfaxe.

RB vs. LF 1-0
This was a tough game. I tried to apply some pressure on black in the KID, and was making some progress (black's 23...Qc8 was a mistake, apparently), but I didn't find the best continuation 24. Bxf5, and that has given black decent chances. Later, as I was feeling time pressure, I kinda bailed out into a R+B vs R+N endgame a pawn down, which I thought offered me decent chances even for a win, as black either had to be very accurate or return material, and a bishop is probably a better piece in such endgames. Objectively, though, it was me who was in bigger trouble, there, but black was entering a time trouble too, and he chose to return the extra pawn over passive defense. However, from then on it was black who had to fight for a draw. In mutual time trouble, black gave up one pawn, and was then to give up another one when he blundered the knight. A rather lucky win for me in what was a very inconsistently-played game.
Thanks for the game LF, and good look in the tournament!

Wow, before I came here, I read what Russianbear and littlefish were talking about in the "Shout Box", and, *from what I read there*, I thought that littlefish won this game over Russianbear! Indeed, I was *quite surprised*, (after what I had read of their conversation in the "Shout Box"), to come here and see that Russianbear actually won this game over littlefish! Chess Fan

Wishful thinking, CF LF played well, as he always seems to do against me - but then he got in trouble once he got low on time - again, just like in our earlier games. I didn't play the best way once I reached the time trouble, either and I think at one point LF was only a few good moves away from having me on the ropes. I guess that means I am making progress as in our previous TONC game I flagged LF in a dead lost position - also after I blew a considerable advantage - IIRC.

Ritch-PircAlert 0-1
Ritch started with 1.d4 but then turned into Pirc. Both played opening very fast, and Ritch seemed to have lost time with his Bd3-e2 moves. I opened up f-file for attack when Ritch hadn't castled yet. It was over soon. Though white hadn't had adequate play after losing the tempo, we saw some interesting lines for white after the game.
Good luck Ritch for the rest of the tournament.
