Is anyone here an Arcade Fire fan? I bought their new album last week and it's been on constant play in my car since then. Absolutely loving it. Live performances here if you're interested.

It says the Unstaged tour was directed by Terry Gilliam, the Monty Python fella and movie director (Time Bandits, Brazil, Fear and Loathing, Fisher King, and many others).

I'm listening to Røyksopp at the moment, elektronica. Remind me , "The Girl and the Robot " live featuring Robyn Nice.

Dimmu Borgir out with a new album. The metal band has co-operated with a classical orchestra. Nice arrangement, but this album is perhaps a bit to light for the genre. Gateways

Well, today, (November 10th, 2010), is the 35th anniversary of the sinking of the ore frieghter Edmund Fitzgerald in a bad storm in Lake Superior back on November 10th, 1975.

The Edmund Fitzgerald went down, taking to their deaths all 29 crewmembers with it.

Canadian folksinger, Gordon Lightfoot, wrote and sang a song back in the year 1976, (which was a *huge* hit song), in honor of the crewmembers who lost their lives when the ship sank.

So, on this, the 35th anniversary of the ship's sinking, here is a video of the song: -- "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"

Way back in the year 1978, the pop-rock group, Pablo Cruise, had a big hit song that received a lot of radio airplay.

Indeed, when I hear this song, it takes me back to those "lazy and crazy" summer days and nights of 1978 when I was a young man of only 21 years of age, working and living mostly in the state of Rhode Island. smile

So, anyway, here now is that hit song of many years ago by Pablo Cruise: -- "Love Will Find A Way"

Mew, band from Denmark. Very un macho vocals. But listening to them is like a pleasant dream. Advanced arrangement. I am listening to a compilation named "Eggs are Funny", picking Am I Wry. No and She Came Home For Christmas.

Enslaved are more macho. Those who listen to metal may like the 16 minutes long composition 793 (Battle of Lindisfarne) Part ONE and Part TWO Lyrics based on Norse mythology and the theme could roughly be described as "proud warrior".

This is a weird combination: Rock'n'roll veteran Wanda Jackson with Jack White of the White Stripes performing a Bob Dylan song, Thunder on the Mountain. More from the unlikely duo: Shakin' All Over, Funnel of Love. Some old Wanda Jackson stuff: Hard-Headed Woman. And Jack White with another music legend, Loretta Lynn, Portland, Oregon.

American cultural imperialism has Norwegians singing country and hip hop, or like in this instance country & hip hop mixed together!? Tone Damli feat. Vinni - Stuck In My Head Works fine.

Retro. The year is 1972 and Slade makes the great live album "Slayed?" starting with How D'You Ride

1976. Dr. Hook with the album "A Little Bit More". Not the best sound quality on this, but a fun song. One Step From The Jungle To The Zoo

I've just mentioned Jack White's latest project, now it has been announced that the White Stripes have disbanded. Too bad, now I'm never going to see them in concert. Here are some of my favourite White Stripes videos: Catch Hell Blues, Jolene, You Don't Know What Love Is, Death Letter, Ball & Biscuit, Effect and Cause, Hotel Yorba

Enjoyable to listen to The White Stripes, Littlefish. I don't have any of their albums, but probably there will be a "the best of" album out soon.

Motörhead out with a new album, "The World Is Yours". Rather good actually, Lemmy at 65 rocks. Here Lemmy gives an alternative to all the "I love you" songs. Bye Bye Bitch
