Hello Chessplayers, The Chess Federation of Canada (CFC) is trying to raise $18,000 to pay for the Olympic team's travels. We have an offer to raise money. Six of my articles (including fiction and non-fiction) are in an anthology for sale from the CFC. There are three works of chess fiction, two of chess biography (Bent Larsen and Al Horowitz) and one work of theory (chess at odds). Here is the link: http://chess.ca/2012_Chess_OlympiadIt is an electronic anthology. After you order it the anthology will be sent to you by email. The cost of the anthology is $10 in Canadian dollars. You may pay by credit card, cheque, or PayPal. If you want to preview the selections you may click on the link and read it. I hope this will help the CFC and gratify those who buy the anthology.

Ed...the cost of the anthology is 10 dollars. The shipping costs are a few pennies over 10 dollars so my total bill would be about 21 dollars. Now I don't mind paying shipping costs for something that actually arrives by snail mail, but I'm not overly eager to pay an extra ten dollars for something that comes by email, or something I need to download off their site myself.
I'd rather just donate some money to the CFC. Or I'd rather just put the money straight into your pocket, get the anthology, and then you can either keep or donate the proceeds.

Thanks. Soon as I saw the total bill with shipping I cancelled the order. Maybe they would retract it on the last screen, but until I know that I'm not putting in my credit card number.

I got several emails from the CFC today. They are on top of this. They thought that they had removed it, but evidently the software code is living on in some other part of the program. They are very aware that this is a problem and they are working to solve it.

Somebody told me that CFC is dangerous for the environment and has been banned.

Hey. The problem is fixed. In the words of the CFC webmaster, "No shipping. No tax." So any order placed will not have a tax or shipping cost attached. You can read the samples or order the anthology here: http://chess.ca/2012_Chess_Olympiad.Please support the CFC. They still need $18,000 to make the trip. Help Canada go to the Olympiad!

Over ten anthologies have been sold. The cost is now fixed at $10 Canadian. You may order using credit card or paypal.
