Wang Hao did win, and Carlsen's game against Bacrot looks drawish. So the "worst case" may be about to happen...We've discussed this before, but I still don't understand why they don't simply use number of wins as first tie-break with the tradtional scoring system. It has a similar effect in most cases, makes the standings much easier to follow and avoids controversy like this.

Carlsen draws, so Wang Hao wins at +3 (19 points in the 3-1-0 scoring system) ahead of Carlsen at +4 (18 points).

Anyway congratulations to the winner of the prediction contest, PircAlert! The final standings:
Code:
               Pred. Square
               error error
1 PircAlert 9,0	23,0
2 supergrobi	12,0	40,0
   littlefish	12,0	40,0
4 Akselborg	13,0	47,0
5 ChessOutpost	14,0	50,0
6 inky 16,0	60,0

Thanks littlefish, and thanks also for persevering in conducting these contests even when the entry numbers are dwindling!

Remarkable performance by Wang Hao! Routed Giri and Nakamura. He must another player to watch out as I read from chessbase that he studies chess for only a few hours a week!

Another remarkable thing is failure of anti-FIDE inventions. Tournament system, football scoring etc. meant to promote Carlsen but was a failure for Carlsen. But coming out unscathed in Biel is a very good performance for Calsen!

Thanks, littlefish.

I got Wang Hao's performance completely wrong. A very tough tournament for Bologan. I still don't like the football scoring—not even as tiebreak. It just looks stupid to me that Carlsen got 2nd here, but after listening to his comment on "The Full English Breakfast" about being first in the rating list again (with absolutely no excitement—he sounded like his appointment with a dentist got confirmed), I think he won't care too much about it...
