Well, even though he's a terror on the boards, I think it is good that I was paired with the elusive Neo Fight. The result of my game doesn't matter in the standings. shocked

Maybe I'll beat him. eek

Rondino and I have scheduled our round 7 game for Wednesday 9pm PDT - 10pm mountain time - Midnight ninja time.

This tournament has been really fun but I'm looking forward to finishing it so I can sit back and relax and let others worry about their games. I've only played online so these are the most competitive and stressful games I have ever played.

I second that. I've been nervous like a debutant ballerina in all of my games. But it's been a nice experience.

I haven't been really nervous apart from before the first game (against Palaveev?), but there's definitely an extra edge to these games. In the last game against WSFF I found I really tensed up in the middlegame when the game seemed to hang on every move. I've been playing almost all G/60+ games recently, so the ticking clock in these 1/2 hour games added to it when I wanted the time to figure everything out properly.

Well... No grandamaster draws in the last round. In a dead drawn position SirKy and I decided to see what will happen and played a long and exhausting ending with queens. The color confusion was my fault, I thought I had Black but turns out I was paired with white, my bad. I hope SirKy doesn't mind

Yes! I mind! Uh... black... is... my... um... special... uh... oh nevermind. (No, I don't mind). A good game from Palaveev, he outplayed me in the end. To tell the truth I missed a SIMPLE TACTIC in the game. Move 34. He moves the bishop w/discovered check. Well, I did not see that it was discovered check until he played it. Actually I didn't see it until playchess told me I was trying to make an illegal move. But, anyways, this is why you need to pay attention. I feel I played well except for this one oversight, and that Palaveev just outplayed me.

In retrospect perhaps I should have accepted that draw offer, but hindsight is 20/20, and I felt I was winning at the time. I was outplayed in the ending, and lost half a point at least for it. An excelent game from Palaveev, and tomorrow when I come home from work I will analyze it and annotate it.

Ugh, I can't stand when I do that... so embarassing. Especially when you try moving the piece a few times over again, thinking maybe it was just a fluke in the interface.... shocked Ugh...
