As far as I know, inky and I are not able to change people's titles. I'll poke around a little bit until I get bored with that, but I'm pretty sure that's something that Mig himself has to do.

In the past he's seemed pretty amenable to changing titles, though, so I imagine he'd be cool with it if we asked. Of course, what with touring the country and running out of disk quota and playing in the World Open and all that, he may not have a lot of time!!

I came up with TONC/KOTONC abbreviations, hehe. And yeah, it'd be a great idea. Obi1 would get the "KoToNC #1" title. If he wins #2, then it'll be "KoToNC #1, #2" and so on. A trophy of sorts!

Oh, and about the "Ninja" title -- I believe that one is reserved for someone who's made 2000ish? posts...

I sort of thought that, in order to keep it from getting out of hand, only one person should get to hold the champion title at once. Like trophies in major sporting events and whatnot.

I suppose that's twice the work for Mig, but it would also be kind of lame if half the major posters had weird titles for being past champs...

I've been thinking we need to have a new blitz tournament next time we get enough people together on playchess. In the first and only blitz tournament, Eddie and Supergrobi tied for first and I came in last place. So I think it is about time we have a new blitz champion and I want some place other than last.

I agree that we mods are very limited in our powers. And, speaking of busy - next Monday is the Kasparov book signing. I'm going. I hope some more ninja's will be there. For ninja's who don't know what Inky looks like - just find the old lady talking to Snoboy. Call her Inky, and if she doesn't hit you over the head with her umbrella, then you've found me.

Why would that be lame, Jsweet? I think it'd be better than just having a single KoToNC title floating around. We're not the national league, we don't keep records. This way it's a trophy for the winner, and the numbers will show a succession of sorts.

And Surf.. I was actually thinking the same thing. Only instead of making it more or less random "when people are around" kind of thing, I was going to make a sign-up thread for a 5/0(or whatever's most preferred) round-robin blitz tournament.
