This interview is part of the mind games played by the Kramnik team before the match. Carsten Hensel is circulating this to all media.

This has to be quite a patheric argument even by ardent pro-match standards. Imagine if Kasparov or Karpov were to play tournaments before any WC, they would win atleast 1 convincingly .. smile
But it really didn't mean much to them. Certainly not nearly as much as the outcome of their matches. smile
They also played in a different era. There was almost always a considerable gap between them and other players.

What part is the mind game? That a championship tournament is not as big of a deal as a championship match? Certainly Anand knows this already. If Anand doesn't believe it himself he must know that a sizable percentage of people in chess think this way and have thought this way at least since FIDE started their KOs.

Isn't that what Kramnik implied in his interview? I am just countering him! smile [/QB][/QUOTE]

It's really worth it to you to say that Anand isn't world champion, just to score some point against Kramnik?

See, this is how your outlook has changed. A few years ago, being pro-Anand was your top priority. Now your top priority is being anti-Kramnik. So much so that you're willing to be anti-Anand too, if that's what it takes.

I am sorry to disappoint you. My priority is just the same. Pro-Justice!

Anand IS world champion!

Do I have to repeat again? I'll save it for later when you have to ask me the question again!

Why do you think I am anti-Kramnik?

Well, I have to disagree with you twice here. First, I don't think Topalov should have gotten a rematch with Kramnik at all, especially after his behavior. Why should he get a rematch? That is what cycles are for.
I think a Kramnik fan should not speak of qualification cycles.

Maybe Anand is Fide world champion, but there is only one classical world chess champion and he is Kramnik.
I would not trust to Anand as a classical world chess champion that's because he won a Fide tournament in Mexico 2007, the only real chance for Anand and his fans will be in october WC match, If Anand wins in the october match then he will be 15th classical world chess champion.

Remember, in Mexico 2007 great Morozevich beat Kramnik and there for Kramnik lost to Russian's GM, another example was Grischuk drew in a %100 lost position in their Catalan game, so that Kramnik lost to Russian's GMs.

I am %100 sure Kramnik will beat Anand in their october match, ofcourse this is my opinion!!

Kramnik: Classical world chess champion 2000-????

Kramnik is classical world chess champion!!

Remember, Kramnik is the only one who beat the great Kasparov in their Classical world chess championship match in London 2000!!

It might have something to do with the sequences of letters and spaces you type into your posts. smile

I agree with this. I would even say I don't mind if it were tied in to some extent. Say the top 2 grand prix winners would get be put in with 14 others to start a candidates matches or something would be fine.
