Some brief info. Magnus Carlsen doesen't play this year, but is visiting on Friday, because father Henrik, sisters Ellen and Ingrid Řen Carlsen are playing. I beat Ingrid in round six today from the black side of a Sicilian, having a 50% score so far. In the first round I had the honour of playing the first board against first seed GM Igor Kurnosov, elo 2617, no upset. Games available from the tournament pages , click on "Standings". GM Simen Agdestein in the lead, I would recommend to see his games in round 4 and 5, great stuff. Four live games, three rounds left.

Congratulations. I am not sure what score you are aiming for, but in such strong events I would be very happy with 50%.

As often happens, the highest ranked player won the tournament. In round 8 GM Kurnosov punished GM Agdestein's offbeat RL defence, eventually finishing on 7,5 points.

I finished on 50% and an elo performance of 2081, ok. My best game was also the easiest, where my Spanish 2100 opponent misplayed the white side of a Dutch Leningrad in round 7.
