Thanks for the nomination! Of course I can promise not to pick on you because of your faith (I do not think I ever did that, so keeping that promise should be easy enough smile ). But -and this may have been the cause of me "picking on you" in the past- I cannot promise not to pick on the content of your posts smile But like I mentioned in another thread, I don't have any problem with religion as long as the posts on that topic don't hijack threads that are not about religion.

Three? There are four of us.

I wonder if he said three because octal is a lock at this point.

4. Ed Yetman, just because he deserves it for nominating me. eek

If Ed refuses, possibly Krish, who Rondino nominated when he planned to leave last year.
In my life I've been an active D&Der, a Nintendo addict, a reader of Groo and Dragonlance, a frequenter of chess and philosophy clubs, a writer for a college newspaper, an avid solver of crossword puzzles, retrograde analysis and lateral thinking problems, and a listener of prog metal. Clearly, moderating a chess messageboard is the step I need to take to consummate my nerdiness. I would do it, if the ChessNinja community supported my nomination.

That said, I think there are others who are better for the job, at the least because they command more respect around here than I do. It seems clear that octal will be one new moderator. SachBinger should be if he wants to be. I also repeat my support of Krish, if he wants to do it. After that I think Malthrope and Guy Kerr would be good choices, if they don't go crazy with the images. I leave out Ed because I'm sure he'd decline.

I would. I think you'd do a better job than those two pantywaists, Petrosianic and Rondino, who let the inmates run wild around here.

If elected, would you pledge to be less Canadian?

I'm sure he'd decline too, I just picked him as a Revenge Nomination. Krish would do a good job.

I´m disappointed that no-one is campaigning on a platform of "Tough on fluff, ... "

That's just low. Have I ever asked you to be less pedantic?

My citizenship in the United States of Pedantia is not an issue in this campaign.

Would your administration deal effectively with criminals like enpassant, who slander the board and staff?

Balance is important in the mod universe. If we're nominating new folks, my vote(s) go to Ed Yetman, Mal, and Sachbinger. Each very different, but all very fine ninja-citizens.

I would give extra points to anyone willing to make the campaign promise to break all campaign promises. Reflexive Athenian paradox is evidence of gravitas, another important mod quality, if carefully balanced with zaniness.

P.S. All current mods are doing a fabulous job, imho. I would be sad to see any of them go, but if we're rotating, that means they all will be back at some point.
