Here are the four people whom that I voted for, (combining chess playing ability - chess knowledge and "agreeable" personality):

1. Malthrope: (a "no-brainer", in BOTH chess playing ability - chess knowledge AND personality!)

2. Sachbinger: (an excellent player whom I highly respect.)

3. Littlefish: (has good chess knowledge and a very "even-tempered" personality, and, another person whom I highly respect.)

4. Chessknight: (a good player who seems like a person who would be a very fair moderator.)

Oh, and, octal, I think that you would be a good moderator also, (I mean, personality wise you really "fit the bill"; BUT, on chess playing ability, well..., after all, you were ONLY able to get a draw against me in our only TONC Game that we have played against each other!)

I disagree, CF. I have played both octal (several times) and littlefish (only once, I think) and in my opinion they are approximately the same chess strength. Which is approximately my chess strength. Which is approximately not very good. (No offense intended littlefish -- octal, I most definitely intended to offend you). I doubt very much that chessknight is stronger than either of them, given his own posts concerning his chess strength.

Besides, I believe strongly that chess strength is not a significant factor in determining who will make a good moderator. Inky sucks. She's a good mod. Petrosianic is very good. He's a good mod. I'm of average ability. I am the best mod this site, or any other site in this history of all chess sites, has ever seen.

Just out of curiosity, what led you to believe that littlefish and chessknight are significantly stronger players than octal?

I remember it very well, CF. I remember trying to talk myself into pushing a pawn (it was e3 as black I think) but getting confused and playing something else, then checking with Fritz afterwards to find out that my tactical idea did indeed work and my "refutation" that I talked myself out of it with during the game was an illusion. In my visualization I forgot that the pawn had moved!

Well I haven't played much chess besides correspondence in the last year, so i've gotten pretty bad really. WoW takes up all the free time that my wife doesn't get :p
