Please show your support for Ken. In my opinion, in all seriousness, I think he is perfect for the job.

EDIT2: KEN FOR MOD! KEN FOR MOD! Join in everybody! KEN FOR MOD! ...
Mal makes a rare cameo appearance... :p

Yes Ken! He must be included in this mod list along with G-Cube (even though he must have forget to read my previous post stating that I've already declined this 'mod honor or horror' as the case may be and made it known to inky!) wink As for the images... eek

Regards, - Mal

PS: I've been meaning to fit this one in but no one has responded to my last post in "Not safe to read at the office" on page -3- (hence, I didn't want to post twice).

Ken is a Bard!

If I may found a fitting 2nd line to his introduction...

*****************************

Drivel drivel mindless drivel...
Quiver, quibble, dribble do shrivel
Trouble, trouble, mindless trouble
Threads burn and passions bubble
Religion, politics, boil and bake
“Suck an egg!” “Go jump in lake!”
For a thread of powerful trouble
Religion, politics, boil and bubble.

*****************************

All in good fun and that's for Ken! laugh

Thanks Mal...I've already decided not to have my name in for mod though. All my joking aside, I just don't have the time, and I applaud the mods who have done it for the past year, and those who are going into this year (you poor misguided saps!). It's because of their efforts that CN is such a good place to spend some time.

Glad you think I'm a bard...thought my latest contribution would have had me banned from bardhood, or at least had Shakespeare's old bones rattling as he turned in his grave. Oops, gotta run. Chess game time. Come see me get my butt kicked on Playchess.

Ken would be a great choice! From my limited interaction, I found him to be a very nice guy, cool, sincere, respectful and doesn't get carried away by issues or anything. Wondering how we even missed him in the first place!

This is my last post in this messageboard. And my last words are:Ken for moderator.

Ha-Ha-Ha! laugh

Yes, I know and that's why I added "All in good fun!"

I too have had fun with the 'poetic pen' and it's a wonderful exercise! smile

All the Best, - Mal

Your last post? A few minutes ago you were considering accepting a modship if offered! What gives? Send me a PM, please, if you don't want to discuss it in the forum. 'Twould be a shame to see you go...

Heh. Interesting you should say this. For obvious reasons I have been thinking about this a lot recently, and my feelings are mixed. I enjoyed being a moderator. At times it was a difficult gig, but I always felt like I was serving the better interests of the site, and I almost always felt, in retrospect, that my actions were consistent and fair and reasonable. Being a moderator provided me the opportunity to get to know Petrosianic and inky and spock much better than I would have ordinarily, for which I am grateful. They are all wonderful people and excellent moderators. As a team we certainly made our share of mistakes, but we always acted in good faith, and I am proud of our work. Being a moderator also provided me the opportunity to speak at length with a number of other regular members via PM. I feel fortunate in this respect too, even if the conversations were not always pleasant, as it brought me closer to the community as a whole. To be honest, I will miss moderating CN.

...

Aw who am I kidding? The only thing I'm really gonna miss is deleting posts. Hoooooeee! Them posts sure did blow up good!
Rondino, You have done a great job as a moderator. I really appreciate your fairness and balance. Thank you for your time and commitment.
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. You should know that Petrosianic has put in as much time as I have, if not more, and that he too has demonstrated admirable commitment to the site. It's a shame that you and Petrosianic have butted heads recently, but please do not confuse his style of posting with his abilities as a moderator. Petrosianic would be the first to admit that he can be more than a little acerbic in debate, and that he can be relentless when pursuing certain debate topics. (He's kinda like The Terminator: <in best Arnie voice> "I'll be back.") But this has nothing to do with his ability as a moderator. He is an excellent moderator, one of the best this site has ever had in my opinion, and should be commended for his work at CN.*

The Bakshi Lord of the Rings is godlike. Those black riders are the spookiest thing ever. I only wish he'd had the budget to finish the tale. I too found the novel overrated, though more fun than Hegel. Less fun than Bakhtin, Barthes, McLuhan.
