Chess Book Auctions

| Permalink | 21 comments

These are leftovers from the Recycling Revel. I didn't have the heart to donate books in descriptive notation to schools, so I'm auctioning them in two lots on Ebay. It's a mixed bag, might fill a few holes in your collection or start a collection. A few very good ones, some junk. The lots are cleverly sorted by weight, not by quality or anything else, so some might evaluate one lot as much better than the other!

All proceeds go to the Recycling Revel postage fund. I just dropped off another box of books and software at a Brooklyn school. The kids (and teachers) are very appreciative. Thanks to everyone who has donated and also thanks to everyone who has suggested a destination class or club where the materials can benefit kids. Auctions end in five days. I'll also start auctioning individual and lots of older ChessBase software, from playing programs (Fritz 9!) to training DVDs.

Click for larger version or just go the auction pages for Lot 1 and Lot 2.

Cien miniaturas rusas.

hehe...migstradamus... cool username, mig.

Maybe you could give "How Karpov wins" back to Karpov, haven't you let him suffer enough?

Yah, and also give him back the copy of "How to Beat Garry Kasparov" that he left in the can in late 1984.

I'm a little disturbed that I could recognize the Konig book from so far away, but I guess the sideways printing is pretty distinctive. He's lucky he didn't go with "Chess From Jasnogrodsky to Konstantinopolsky" or that spine would have looked pretty silly...

Sorry to hijack the thread but since your auctions have ended, might as well. FAZ, a german paper has a story about spotting two of Anand's seconds in a bakery near frankfurt.

I wasn't that good at chess and couldn't realize what so good about this game many people find. I once downloaded some books and video tutorials on how to play chess from search http://bytesland.com and must say that I stop eating and sleeping mastering different strategies. It's very exciting. It's a pity that I can't find those books on the web for free.(((

Are any of this book still available on ebay? I don't have enough time to visit local bookstores so I'm hoping that these are still available.

Excellently written article, if only all bloggers offered the same level of content as you, the internet would be a much better place. Please keep it up!

If you are into playing a wooden game such as chess and are looking for useful books on chess sets or anything related to the game, check out this article. There are many books relating to chess that the writer has decided to give away for auction. It is good that the writer has listed the titles of all the books shown in the photo.

I have been playing chess for more that 15 years but I still have a lot to learn. These books seem like a good read, can't wait to buy them. http://www.jakpoderwacdziewczynex.pl

I started when I was six. My mother taught me to play. In fact, my mother used to do much for my chess. We moved to the Philippines shortly after,

Brome books are good for measuring,Uppercase article, I anticipate everything is right here.

Swords used in ancient times symbolized the power of death, and were tools for eradicating evil. Although materials used to make swords have changed, they continued to be placed in tombs with the deceased’s other belongings.

All proceeds go to the Recycling Revelry postage fund. I just dropped off another box of books and software at a Borough train. The kids (and teachers) are really appreciative.
